Katie Walsh

Now retired as a jockey, Katie was one of the most successful female riders ever, delivering more than 100 wins in the saddle.

Her first victory came in 2003 with Hannon, a horse trained by her father, Ted.

Katie went on to have success in some big horse racing betting events, including the Irish Grand National with Thunder And Roses.

She also triumphed at the Cheltenham Festival, riding three winners, most recently Relegate in the 2018 Champion Bumper.

She finished third in the Aintree Grand National aboard her father’s Seabass in 2012, securing what was then the best finishing position in the race by a female jockey.

Katie is married to trainer and fellow Betway ambassador Ross O’Sullivan.

Since her retirement Katie has been selling horses, as well as assisting Ross in their Kildare yard.

Katie became a Betway brand ambassador in December 2018 and will write regular blogs for the Betway Insider, giving her thoughts on upcoming meetings and racing industry news.
