The NBA is deep into the home stretch of the regular season, with most teams playing their final few games in the coming days.
Motivation varies across the league, with some teams looking to earn home court advantage early in the playoffs, others looking to work their way in or out of the play-in tournament, and some planning postseason trips to the NBA Draft lottery.

Keeping all of those items in mind, here are my four favorite bets Friday night.

Orlando Magic (+12.5) at Brooklyn Nets

For weeks, this Magic team has been undervalued by pundits and sportsbooks. Orlando, long believed to be a team tanking for draft position, has actually been competitive since the start of the new year. The Magic are 21-22 since January 1 and are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games.

Since the start of March, the Magic have won as many games by this point spread as they’ve lost (two of each), including a 13-point victory over this same Nets team on March 26.

Brooklyn is highly motivated to win down the stretch, looking to secure a spot safely in the playoffs rather than be sent to the play-in tournament. Surely that is fueling this hefty spread, but the Magic deserve more credit here.

I don’t think it’s crazy to toss a small unit on the money line, nabbing nearly 7-to-1 odds on a viable underdog.

Houston Rockets moneyline at Charlotte Hornets

While the Magic are feistier than many might believe, these two teams are purely in the tank. Houston’s starting lineup is younger than most of the college teams we watched throughout March Madness, while Charlotte was bad before injuries made life a lot worse.

Some of those injuries may be tactical shutdowns by a team looking for losses, but regardless the reasoning, the Hornets are trotting out an embarrassment of a lineup these days. LaMelo Ball is out for the season, while Gordon Hayward, Cody Martin, Kelly Oubre, Terry Rozier and PJ Washington are all confirmed out for Friday night’s game, with Dennis Smith Jr. questionable to play. That’s six of Charlotte’s eight top scorers this season.

There’s a reason Charlotte has been double-digit dogs in six straight games. The Hornets outright won the first three of those six but now have lost three straight games, all by 20+ points.

Houston isn’t great, but at least the Rockets are healthy. After a recent seven-game losing streak, Houston has won two of three and should steal a road win here.

Golden State Warriors to score over 123.5 points vs Sacramento Kings

While the Hornets may be filling the injury report for tanking reasons, the Sacramento Kings are shockingly doing so for the opposite reasons. After recently ending the longest playoff drought in major North American sports, the Kings are locked into the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

With nothing really to play for, Sacramento is eyeing a chance to rest its best players. Most of the Kings’ rotation players are listed as day-to-day, with the expectation that few will dress in Friday’s game with their Northern California neighbors.

Golden State, on the other hand, are in need of a win. The Warriors are eager to avoid the play-in tournament. They currently sit in a tie for fifth in the West, with the Lakers just one game behind. Curry and crew will be ready to roll, in front of a crowd that could be surprisingly pro-Warriors near their neck of the woods.

Sacramento allows 118 points per game when it plays its best players. With a lineup full of backups, expect Golden State to score.

Washington Wizards (+6.5) vs. Miami Heat

This late in the season, most of your bets should be determined by the standings and scheduling quirks that filter their way into the conversation in the final week of play. Miami picked up a much needed win Thursday night in Philadelphia, but now turns around for a back-to-back in DC.

The Heat need the win to continue their quest of the play-in tourney, yet that’s a lot easier said than done on road back-to-back.

I’ll jump on these points considering the scheduling situation.
