Charlotte Hornets (-5.5) vs Detroit Pistons

The Hornets have been inconsistent this season and went 4-4 in their last eight games before All-Star Weekend, but Thursday night’s game against the Pistons looks a good opportunity for them to move to .500 for the season.

Detroit has lost seven of its last nine games and is bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 10-26 record.

The Pistons have won just four of their 20 road games this season and are 7-15 against teams from their own conference.

Brooklyn Nets (-3) vs Boston Celtics

The Nets were the hottest team in the NBA heading into the All-Star break, having won 10 of their last 11 games to climb to second in the East.

Their last 15 wins have all come by a margin of at least four points, and they have to be considered major title contenders considering they still have Kevin Durant to return from injury.

The Celtics won four in a row just before the break, but they’re still 8-9 over their last 17 games and have a 7-12 record on the road this season.

Miami Heat (-6.5) vs Orlando Magic

The Magic come into this game on the back of a five-game losing streak, with three of those defeats coming by double digits.

After going 6-2 to start the season, Orlando has since gone 7-21. Steve Clifford’s team is now 14th in the Eastern Conference standings and ranks 28th out of 30 teams in net rating.

The Heat, meanwhile, won seven of their last eight games before the break, with the last five of those wins all coming by a margin of eight points or more.

Dallas Mavericks (-6.5) vs Oklahoma City Thunder

After a slow start to the season, the Mavericks have moved into the playoff spots in the West thanks to a run of 10 wins in their last 12 games.

Dallas has won four straight, and five of its last six wins have come by a margin of six points or more.

The Thunder have lost six of their last 10 games by nine points or more, they’re just 7-16 against teams from the West and they rank 26th in net rating this season.
