Cleveland Cavaliers (+5.5) vs Indiana Pacers

The Pacers have dropped out of the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference due to a run of nine defeats in 12 games, including each of their last four.

They remain above the Cavaliers in the standings, but likely won’t be for long given how Cleveland is playing at present. J.B. Bickerstaff’s team have won four straight, including a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, who occupy top spot in the East.

Center Jarrett Allen has given the Cavs a boost since his trade from the Brooklyn Nets last month, and guard Collin Sexton is playing at an extremely high level, scoring 39 against the Rockets on Monday night. Together, they will help Cleveland keep this one close at the very least.

Utah Jazz (-3.5) vs Philadelphia 76ers

In this showdown between the top teams from each conference, the West-leading Jazz look primed for a big victory.

Utah has won 23 of its last 27 games since a 4-4 start to the season and has now built a 3.5-game lead at the top of the conference. Wins over both Los Angeles teams last month proved that the Jazz are the class of the West at present, and they beat the 76ers 134-123 when these teams met in Utah earlier in the season.

The 76ers have been formidable at home this season but they’ve lost five of their last 10 games, rank just eighth in the NBA in net rating and could be without Tobias Harris, their second-highest scorer who is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury.

Brooklyn Nets (-7.5) vs Houston Rockets

A run of nine wins in 10 games has seen Brooklyn climb to second in the Eastern Conference, and it could move into top spot by beating Houston on Wednesday night.

James Harden has been on fire for the Nets in Kevin Durant’s absence, and this is an opportunity for the 2018 MVP to get one over his former team, who have lost 12 consecutive games.

The Rockets rank 25^th in the NBA in net rating and 10 of their last 13 defeats have come by double digits, so this should be a comfortable victory for Brooklyn.

Sacramento Kings (-3.5) vs Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been in a slump since Anthony Davis went down with an Achilles injury in mid-February, losing six of their last nine games including Tuesday’s home game against the Phoenix Suns.

They now have a very quick turnaround for this trip to Sacramento and will also be without LeBron James, who has not travelled with the team as he deals with a minor ankle injury. Marc Gasol and Kyle Kuzma also missed Tuesday night’s game.

The Kings are 13-21, sit in 13^th in the West and would usually be no match for the Lakers, but the defending champions’ injury concerns mean Sacramento should win this one handily on their own court.
