Dillian Whyte’s rematch with Dereck Chisora with receive plenty of attention on Saturday night, but this IBF featherweight title bout in Manchester also has fight of the year potential.

Carl Frampton has been one of Britain’s best fighters for the past five years, and few can match him in terms of the quality of opponents that he’s faced.

The 31-year-old beat arch-rival Scott Quigg in February 2016 and then split two fights with current WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.

Frampton hasn’t looked the same since Santa Cruz beat him in January 2017, though, with a trio of underwhelming wins over Horacio Garcia, Nonito Donaire and Luke Jackson.

Few would have given Josh Warrington much of a chance against Frampton at the start of the year, but the Leeds featherweight showed just how good he is by winning the IBF world title from Lee Selby in May.

Selby was considered one of Britain’s best pound-for-pound fighters at the time, but Warrington overwhelmed him with his power and relentless work rate.

That performance, along with the fact that Frampton is arguably not at his best at featherweight, suggests that this is a 50-50 fight.

At his peak, Frampton combined slick footwork and head movement with phenomenal punching power, but it’s been a while since he last put it all together.

For that reason, the value is in backing the champion to upset the odds at , just like he did against Selby earlier in the year.

Warrington is the fighter on the rise, and a decision win for the 28-year-old is also great value at .
