LAWRENCE OKOLIE V ISAAC CHAMBERLAIN

Someone’s ‘0’ has got to go when these young, talented cruiserweights meet at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.

Both Okolie and Chamberlain have shown huge promise, and it’s surprising that they’ve been thrown into the ring together so early in their careers.

Okolie’s a great puncher who has a growing reputation, thanks to his appearance at the 2016 Olympics and his rumoured knockout of Anthony Joshua in sparring.

The 25-year-old’s never really been tested as a professional, though. He has faced seven no-hopers so far, stopping six of them inside the distance.

Despite the doubts over his boxing ability, the Hackney local’s power cannot be denied, and he clearly has the advantage over Chamberlain in that respect.

Chamberlain has only knocked out four of his nine opponents to date, though his team are adamant that he has the hands to take Okolie out early.

The 23-year-old is certainly the slicker of the pair, and it’d be no surprise if he dominates the early rounds and forces Okolie to chase him.

With fighters this raw, though, it’s safe to expect a few mistakes, and if Chamberlain switches off he could easily find himself down on the canvas.

For that reason, it’s worth backing Okolie to eventually land a big bomb and win inside the distance.

TED CHEESEMAN V CARSON JONES

Undefeated super-welterweight Cheeseman is one of the most promising fighters in Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable, and he can earn the biggest victory of his career on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old has won all 12 of his professional bouts to date – eight by knockout – and is the favourite against the 31-year-old Jones.

The experienced American has had a decent career, with a record of 40 wins, 12 losses and three draws, but he’s lost whenever he’s challenged fighters near the top of the division.

Kell Brook beat him twice, and he was stopped in seven rounds against the 39-year-old Antonio Margarito in his last fight in September.

Jones will be a tricky opponent for Cheeseman, but he won’t have the speed or power to really trouble the South Londoner.

The younger fighter should take the win, and with it the vacant WBA International belt.
