Not only is Las Vegas famed for its gambling and nightlife, it regularly plays host to some of the world’s biggest performers.

Over the years, iconic stars such as Liberace, Prince and Elvis Presley have captivated audiences in Vegas casinos, earning millions along the way. Lady Gaga is the latest in a long line of superstars to join the ranks, recently announcing a 74-date residency that will reportedly earn her a cool $75 million.

Here at Betway Casino, our online casino games are inspired by the buzz of Las Vegas and we’ve created an infographic to celebrate the world’s biggest casino acts, with statistics about how much these stars have earned, how many shows they’ve performed.

One of the most popular venues for residency concerts is the Colosseum, which is located on the Las Vegas Strip and is the main venue for entertainment at the luxury hotel and casino Caesars Palace.

Stars such as Rod Stewart, Cher and Shania Twain have all performed at the Colosseum, while Mariah Carey is said to have amassed $23,912,616 from just 50 shows there. Celine Dion holds the record for the most shows performed there, dating back to 2003, and has earned more than $229,086,433 through her residency, becoming the most profitable musical casino act since Elvis.

The most iconic celebrity performing at the Colosseum is currently Elton John, whose career has spanned for more than five decades. He is due to finish in 2018 sometime, but his “Million Dollar Piano” concert, featuring all of his greatest hits, has been admired by 207 sold-out audiences so far.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is another hugely popular casino along the Las Vegas Strip, which is also now owned by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. It’s safe to say that it lives up to its name as it has played host to stars such as Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Lionel Richie, to name just a few. Jennifer Lopez has also had huge recent success here, with one of her shows grossing over $1 million in the summer of 2016.

When it comes to Las Vegas and concerts, we couldn’t leave out the legendary Elvis Presley, who reignited his career in Sin City with an incredible 636 sellout show run between 1969 and 1976. The bulk of these shows were performed at the International Hotel, and he also did his fair share at the Las Vegas Hilton. Such is his legacy in Las Vegas that tribute acts and impersonators can be witnessed in shows or on the strip on a daily basis even now.

One of the highlights of our infographic has to be Siegfried & Roy, a pair of German magicians who lived a real American dream by moving to the USA and making it to the big time. They starred in a staggering 5,750 shows at the Mirage Resort and Casino. This figure would have undoubtedly been higher had Roy not sustained career-ending injuries after being mauled by a tiger live on stage in 2003.

There’s no place on Earth quite like Vegas, as stars from Elvis to Britney well know, and this infographic demonstrates just how much of a big deal Vegas residencies are. If you can’t make it to the glitzy casinos of Las Vegas then fear not, as you can try your hand at our online casino — the next best thing. And who knows, if you strike lucky, then you could be making your way over to Sin City before you know it…
