Bored of Blackpool? Had your fill of London casinos?

In recent years, places like the Philippines and Singapore have been fighting to earn the title of 'best casino destination'.

If you aren't planning on doing any travelling, you can try many great table games and slots at Betway Casino online.

Singapore

Top casinos: Marina Bay Sands Casino, Resorts World Sentosa

The city state of Singapore has been a hotbed of casino gaming for a few years. Under current gaming law, visitors to Singapore over 21 can enter any one of half a dozen gaming resorts.

Casinos in Singapore are confined to two main spots: Marina Bay and Sentosa. The giant Marina Bay Sands Casino opened in 2010 and includes around 700 table games and over 2,000 video slots across its 160,000 sq. ft gaming floor.

As well as a casino, Resorts World Sentosa features museums, waterparks, an aquarium and a local Universal Studios theme park.

Las Vegas (USA)

Top casinos: ARIA, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Wynn

Despite growing competition from places like Singapore and Macau, Las Vegas remains the world's go-to holiday destination for casino players.

The iconic Las Vegas Strip has undergone huge development in recent years. Slick 21st century casino-hotels like ARIA and Cosmopolitan have sprung up, and some of the old-school casinos like Bill's Gamblin' Hall have made way.

Gambling in Vegas began in Downtown Las Vegas in and around Fremont Street. The area is enjoying a resurgence as holidaymakers avoid the bright lights of Bellagio and Caesars on the Strip.

Manila (Philippines)

Top casinos: Resorts World Manila, Casino Filipino, City of Dreams Manila

The Filipino capital is home to some of Asia's best casinos. Resorts World has a casino in Manila which opened in 2009, and visitors flock here to enjoy slots, Baccarat, Casino Stud, Craps, and Asian favourites like Pai Gow.

Manila is big on integrated resorts. City of Dreams Manila manages to mix high end shopping, restaurants and a hotel with a modern casino packed with games.

As in other Asian destinations, Manila players and visitors are hot on card games. Most casinos in the city have Three Card Poker, baccarat, pontoon, blackjack, and local speciality, Lunar Poker.

Macau (China)

Top casinos: MGM Macau, Wynn Palace, Venetian Macau, City of Dreams

Macau has one of the biggest concentrations of casinos anywhere in the world. There are over 40 casinos in this peninsula, and many of the world's big casino brands are represented.

MGM Macau features nearly 350 table games and over 1,000 video slots. Other big US brands like Sands and Wynn also have casinos in Macau.

The Cotai Strip is Asia's answer to the Las Vegas Strip and features some of the city's best resorts. City of Dreams opened in 2014 and includes Hollywood-themed rides and rooms on top of regular casino games.

Under pressure from the Chinese government, many resorts in Macau are now targeting families. Resorts like City of Dreams now feature kid-friendly zones.

Atlantic City (USA)

Top casinos: Tropicana AC, Golden Nugget AC, Borgata Casino, Caesars Palace

Atlantic City is the US east coast's alternative to Las Vegas. Despite some high-profile closures like the Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City remains one of the best casino cities in the US.

New Jersey legalised online casinos in 2013, and many of the city's big casinos have online gambling sites of their own.

There are around a dozen casinos in Atlantic City in 2019. Big casinos like Tropicana boast thousands of slots and progressive jackpots, as well as local table game specialities like Atlantic City Blackjack.

Sydney (Australia)

Top casinos: The Star, Crown Sydney (opening soon)

Australia has become a major destination for casino travellers over the years. Queensland and Victoria have casinos, but Sydney is due to surpass both states.

New South Wales currently has more video slots ("pokies") per capita than anywhere else in the world other than Las Vegas. And the new Crown Sydney casino is due to open in 2022.

When complete, Crown Sydney will have thousands of the latest video slots and high-stakes rooms for VIP gamblers travelling to Australia.
