Stuart Broad match wickets: Over 3.5 –

Jimmy Anderson’s brilliance has overshadowed a significant improvement for Broad in the last six months.

The 32-year-old has taken 25 wickets at an average of 20.32 since the start of England’s series in New Zealand in March, including four in the second innings at Lord’s last week.

At his home ground, where he famously took 8-15 against Australia three years ago, he is a great bet to take four more across the whole match.

Mohammed Shami first innings wickets: Over 1.5 –

Having successfully tipped joy for Shami in this market in the first two Tests, it makes sense to back him again.

The seamer has exposed the weaknesses of the England batting line-up. He dismissed Keaton Jennings in the first innings of both Tests and accounts for five of the hosts’ batsmen across the series so far.

Che Pujara first innings runs: Under 24.5 –

Other than Virat Kohli, no-one in India’s top seven has passed 30 in this series.

Pujara looked badly out of form at Lord’s, where he followed his comical first-innings run out with 17 off 87 second time around, so don’t expect him to improve that dreadful record here.

Ajinkya Rahane first innings runs: Under 24.5 –

Including the pre-series warm-up match against Essex, Rahane has failed to pass 19 in any of his last six innings.

Having been dismissed by four different bowlers in his four Test innings this summer, he is unlikely to find life any easier at Trent Bridge.
