England to win -

England should bounce back quickly from Sunday’s thrilling defeat to Scotland.

Eoin Morgan’s side fell just six runs short of their biggest ODI chase of all time in Edinburgh, and shouldn’t concede so many runs this time around.

Tom Curran’s omission in Edinburgh was a surprise. Should he return for David Willey on his home ground, then the hosts’ bowling should improve against an Australian side that are missing star batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith.

England have played 28 ODIs since they last lost two in a row, and have won three of their four matches at The Oval since the start of their one-day renaissance in 2015.

Eoin Morgan to score a 50 -

Morgan was striking the ball nicely before he was dismissed against Scotland, so it should only be a matter of time until he translates his impressive domestic form onto the international scene.

The skipper has scored 45, 50, 57 and 100 in his seven one-day innings for Middlesex this season, and has hit a half-century in two of his last four ODIs at The Oval.

Liam Plunkett to take over 1.5 wickets -

Plunkett was expensive against Scotland but still picked up a couple of wickets, and can repeat the trick here.

The 33-year-old has eight wickets in his last three home ODIs, and will be bowling at an alarmingly vulnerable Australian middle-order.
