Joe Root to score over 34.5 runs

Root was dismissed for the first time in four ODIs on Saturday, but is in such good from that you’d expect him to cruise past this threshold.

The Test captain had scored 113*, 100* and 25* before his 71 at the weekend, and – as his side’s most adaptable batsman – looks comfortable in these conditions.

Upul Tharanga to score under 26.5 runs

Tharanga hardly got a chance to get going in the second ODI, nicking a Chris Woakes beauty to Jos Buttler for a golden duck.

The opener has passed this mark in just three of his last 11 ODI innings that weren’t against Bangladesh, Afghanistan or Zimbabwe, and faces up to a new-ball attack that was in great form last time out.

Chris Woakes to take over 1.5 wickets

Olly Stone made an impressive debut on Saturday, but it is the reliable Woakes who you should put your faith in.

The 29-year-old has taken at least two wickets in five of his last six ODIs, including three on Saturday, so is a fantastic bet to repeat the trick at odds-against.

Adil Rashid to take over 0.5 wickets

Rashid only bowled two overs before the rain fell in the second match, so his wicketless efforts aren’t worth dwelling on.

Given he had not failed to take a wicket in any of his 10 previous matches, this looks a long price for the visitor’s leg-spinner to strike at least once.
