Team that wins the toss to win the match

After Jason Holder won the toss and led his side to a thumping victory in Antigua, the team that has called right has gone on to win the match in nine of England’s last 10 Test matches.

That alone is enough to back a repeat here.

Joe Root to score over 59.5 match runs

Root’s pride will have been stung by accusations that his side lack the mental capacity to grind out long innings, so there is value in backing him to lead from the front by buckling down in this Test.

The skipper hasn’t passed 22 in this series so far, but a player of his class is unlikely to be in such poor nick for long.

He has reached 45 runs in the last Test of nine of England’s last 10 series, so backing him to get up to 60 in this one is not much of a stretch.

Kemar Roach to take over 4.5 match wickets

Roach has taken 13 wickets in this series – five in the first match, eight in the second – and a repeat looks a good bet here.

Seam bowling traditionally dominates in St Lucia.

All but one of the 35 wickets to fall between West Indies and Sri Lanka on this ground in June fell to pace, with Roach taking six of them, while seamers accounted for 28 of the 37 when the hosts took on India here in 2016.
