Here are four IPL betting tips that Guy Giles thinks you should consider for the match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on Thursday.

Chennai Super Kings to win

These two teams – the two most successful in the history of the IPL – are sitting at the bottom of the table ahead of Thursday’s match, with just one win from 12 matches between them.

It is Chennai who have that win to their name, beating Bangalore by 23 runs, and they have looked the slightly better team so far with a couple of very tight losses on their record.

Despite that, the Super Kings are the betting underdog in this one, so it’s definitely worth going with the value against a winless Mumbai.

Dewald Brevis to score over 19.5 runs

Brevis has been a rare bright spot for Mumbai so far, with the young South African underlining his potential with some eye-catching knocks.

Scores of 29, 49 and 31 in four innings so far make him worth backing to pass 20 again on Thursday.

Tilak Varma to score over 16.5 runs

Varma is another young player who has impressed for Mumbai, with 183 runs in six innings making him their second-highest run-scorer to date.

He has passed this mark in five of those six trips to the crease.

Maheesh Theekshana to be Chennai Super Kings top bowler

Theekshana has been a revelation since he got into the Chennai side, taking six wickets in three games with his mystery spin.

The Sri Lanka international took four of those six wickets at the DY Patil against Bangalore last week, so this looks like great value for him to shine again.
