Former New Zealand star Scott Styris featured in five seasons of the Indian Premier League, including the inaugural tournament in 2008.

Styris first played for the Deccan Chargers, where he won the title in 2009, before a couple of seasons with the Chennai Super Kings, with whom he won a second championship in 2011.

Having been a part of the very first IPL, Styris experienced first-hand the effect that the tournament had on the global cricketing landscape.

Now, in an exclusive conversation with Darren Gough in the Players' Lounge, Styris discusses how it felt to be part of a competition that shook up the sport.
