Here are Adam Drury's cricket betting tips for the first T20I, which starts at 01:00am on Sunday.

England a quality outfit

It seemed strange that England were such big underdogs for the first T20, and they look a good bet to make it two wins from two here.

Even without some big names, the visitor’s batting line-up is dynamite. Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan are established performers, while James Vince had an outstanding domestic campaign for Hampshire.

With Chris Jordan being backed up by slow-ball specialist Pat Brown in the death overs, England should be able to restrict New Zealand to a small enough total.

Bairstow is back

Being dropped from the Test match squad may have come with as much relief as disappointment for Jonny Bairstow after a mentally-draining summer.

He certainly looked free of any concerns in the first T20 of this series, smashing 35 off 28 balls to set England on their way to a comfortable victory.

The 30-year-old has now passed a mark of 24.5 in his last six white-ball innings for England, and in five of his last six in this format.

Eoin Morgan said that he felt “terrible” during his innings in the first T20, but it certainly didn’t show.

The skipper underlined his importance to this team with a match-winning 34* off 21 deliveries, finishing the game with a six.

Having made the decision to stay on as captain until the World T20 next autumn, Morgan looks motivated to cash in. He has passed this mark without losing his wicket in his last two T20i innings and in three of his last four white-ball knocks for England.

Jordan still belongs

England have very few T20 specialists, with virtually all of their batsmen also involved in the ODI setup, as well as the majority of the first-string bowling attack.

Friday’s opening match was a reminder that Jordan has nailed down that role, though.

Ignored by the 50-over team for some time, he is still evidently Morgan’s go-to bowler in this format, taking two crucial New Zealand wickets to prevent them setting a big total.

He has taken at least two wickets in four of his last six T20s for England, so can be relied upon to do the business.

Seifert impresses

As a relative unknown, Seifert is probably underestimated in this market.

He struggled away to Sri Lanka in this format in September, but that doesn’t affect his chances on home soil.

He looked more comfortable than any of his team-mates in the opener against England, and has hit 30+ in three of his last four home T20s.

This is a low mark for a top-three batsman in decent form.
