Australia to win

Australia were in imperious form in the first ODI, racking up 374/6 before seeing off India’s threat with the bat to win by 66 runs.

They are unlikely to score so heavily again on Sunday, but India clearly haven’t worked out their best team and were well below par on Friday.

Steve Smith to score over 36.5 runs

Smith put a poor IPL campaign behind him with a brilliant century in the first match of the series, hitting 105 off just 66 deliveries.

When Smith is in this kind of form he tends to rack up score after score, so he looks a good bet to pass this mark again on Sunday.

Shreyas Iyer to score over 26.5 runs

Iyer was dismissed for just two runs off two balls on Friday, but his previous ODI form suggests he won’t go long without a score.

He has passed this relatively low mark in 11 of his 17 innings to date in this format.

Josh Hazlewood to take over 1.5 wickets

Hazlewood eclipsed his pace partners Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins in the first ODI, taking three wickets off his 10 overs.

He looks a good bet to follow up that performance on Sunday – he has taken 12 wickets in his last five ODIs at the SCG.
