Here are Guy Giles' cricket betting tips for the fourth Test match in Johannesburg, which starts at 08:00am on Friday.

England on a roll

England secured their first innings win abroad since 2011 in Port Elizabeth to take control of the series with one match remaining.

Ollie Pope and Ben Stokes took the game away from South Africa with the bat before Dom Bess and Joe Root spun England to another final-day victory.

South Africa are in disarray and, with star bowler Kagiso Rabada banned for the final Test, they will struggle to contain an England side that have found their groove.

England to win

Stokes on fire

Stokes’ form with the bat over the last 12 months has seen him enter the top 10 of the ICC Test batting rankings for the first time.

His last 20 Test innings have included three centuries – two of them unbeaten – and five half-centuries, with the two exceptions being scores of 47 and 48 not out.

The 28-year-old has passed this mark in the first innings in all three Tests in South Africa, and in four of his last five Test innings overall.

Broad loves the Wanderers

Stuart Broad took four wickets in a hard-working performance in Port Elizabeth, where a slow pitch offered little assistance to the seamers.

The Wanderers will be a different story, though, and is a ground where the veteran bowler loves to play.

Broad has taken 11 wickets in two matches in Johannesburg, including a 6-17 performance in the second innings the last time England played at the venue.

Bavuma back in the mix

South Africa’s quota system means that Rabada’s suspension will likely affect their batting order as well as their bowling attack.

The need for a black African replacement means that Temba Bavuma is first in line for a recall, although his reinstatement to the team would not necessarily be a purely political move.

The diminutive batsman is a man in form – he registered a career-best score of 180 for club side Highveld Lions, who play at the Wanderers, just last week.

Philander’s farewell

Vernon Philander will retire from international cricket after this Test and will be hoping to end his Proteas career on a high.

The wily seamer has a brilliant record at the Wanderers, taking 39 wickets in seven Tests at an average of just 15.69, including two five-wicket hauls.

With Rabada missing from the attack, Philander will be South Africa’s principal threat with the ball as they try and rescue a series draw.
