Here are Adam Drury's cricket betting tips for the second ODI in Durban, which starts at 11:00am on Friday.

Over 549.5 runs in the match

The team batting first has posted 300+ in three of the last five ODIs at Kingsmead, with one of the exceptions being when South Africa cleaned up a poor Pakistan side last year, so we can expect more runs in this match.

England’s batting order let themselves down on Tuesday, but should improve for that experience. It would be a surprise if Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan didn’t deliver again.

The visitors’ bowling attack proved why they are Morgan’s second-string in that match, though, particularly in the middle overs. They don’t look capable of restricting South Africa to a low score.

Joe Root to score over 37.5 runs

A freak run out saw Root fall short of his runs line in the first ODI, so there is no reason not to remain loyal to him for the second.

He has fallen short of 38 in just five of his last 16 ODIs, and passed it in four of his five innings in England’s last ODI series in South Africa.

In the last five ODIs on this ground, No. 3 batsmen have scored four centuries and an 80.

Quinton de Kock to be South Africa’s top batsman

Having successfully backed this in the opening ODI, while explaining that it is bound to return profit throughout the series, there is no reason to go elsewhere in this market.

De Kock hit a brilliant 107 in that match, with only Temba Bavuma coming close to matching him. He has now scored 80+ in five of his last seven home ODIs, and top scored for his team in five of the last nine.

England 1^st to 10^th over: Over 51.5 runs

Despite going on to post a disappointing total, England were still on 52 by the end of the 10^th over of the first ODI.

Since the start of 2017, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow’s partnership is only bettered by Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma of India in terms of runs, while they have scored at over seven runs per over.

Tabraiz Shamsi to take under 1.5 wickets

Shamsi took three wickets in Tuesday’s opener, but England have little to fear now that they have had a look at him.

The leg-spinner hadn’t taken more than one wicket in any of his last five ODIs.
