England to win

England have won the opening match of their last three T20 series – against West Indies, New Zealand and South Africa – while also beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan in one-off matches.

Pakistan, meanwhile, won their last two T20s against Bangladesh but had lost six straight prior to that.

Dawid Malan to score over 21.5 runs

Malan’s place in this England side is still uncertain despite his exceptional T20 form, but an injury to Jason Roy means he should play on Friday.

He averages more than 50 in this format after 10 matches, scoring half-centuries in six of those.

Babar Azam to be Pakistan’s top batsman

Babar is one of just two batsmen in the world to average more than 50 in T20Is after a minimum of 20 innings.

The Pakistan skipper has 13 half-centuries in just 38 matches in this format, including three in his last five innings.

Chris Jordan to be England’s top bowler

Jordan is England’s second-highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, taking 58 scalps in 46 matches at an average of 24.27.

Eighteen of those wickets have come since the start of 2019, with his average in that time dropping to just 16.

Mohammad Amir to be Pakistan’s top bowler

Amir retired from Test cricket in 2019 to focus on limited-overs cricket, and should play a big part for Pakistan in his first T20 series since November.

He tends to enjoy bowling in English conditions – he has taken 24 wickets in his last 10 matches on these shores in all formats.
