India v England betting tips & odds

India to win

Although there is a high turnover of players for both sides after the Test series, it is hard to ignore the momentum behind India after their 3-1 victory.

They return to the site of their comprehensive victories in the third and fourth Tests – the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – and are favourites to start this five-match series with a win.

England’s difficulty with the slower ball is unlikely to play as big a part in the limited-overs formats, but India’s mastery of home conditions should see them go 1-0 up on Friday.

Rohit Sharma to score over 25.5 runs

One of the stars of the recent Test series, Sharma is coming into this series in great form, having scored 345 runs across the four matches.

His destructive batting at the top of the order is likely to play a similarly big part in the T20 series, so he looks a good bet to pass this mark on Friday.

Jonny Bairstow to score over 21.5 runs

Bairstow has had a torrid time in India so far, registering three ducks in four innings during the Test series.

He is far more comfortable in white-ball cricket, though, and generally performs well when he has a point to prove.

Don’t be surprised if he impresses on Friday.

Yuzvendra Chahal to take over 1.5 wickets

Chahal missed out on the Test series but returns to the fold for the T20s, and will be a key bowler for Virat Kohli throughout.

The leggy is one of India’s best strike bowlers, having taken 59 wickets in 45 T20Is, and should enjoy facing up to an England batting lineup that can struggle against spin.
