Here are four cricket betting tips that Adam Drury thinks you should consider when England face India on Friday.

Jonny Bairstow to score over 24.5 first-innings runs

It seems unlikely that Bairstow’s astonishing form can continue to the same extent, but this still looks like a low runs line for a player in such good nick.

He has smashed 136, 162 and 71* at better than a run a ball in his last three innings and so can reach 25 in no time.

Zak Crawley to hit over 2.5 first-innings fours

Crawley may be in horrible form, but we know that if he does bat for any decent period of time he is bound to hit a few boundaries.

Sixty per cent of the opener’s runs come from finding the rope. If he can just survive a few overs, this bet should land.

Matty Potts to be England’s top first-innings wicket-taker

Potts was outstanding at Headingley and has made himself undroppable even as Jimmy Anderson returns to the team for this Test.

He won in this market in the first Test at Lord’s and was very unlucky to only take four wickets in the last Test, so is due a few more here.

Mohammed Shami to be India’s top first-innings wicket-taker

Shami was excellent in England last summer, taking nine first-innings wickets across his three Test matches.

On the two occasions that he reached double figures in the New Zealand series, he hit seven and six fours.
