David Warner to score over 30.5 first-innings runs

After a difficult few months, Warner’s brilliant T20 World Cup campaign means he comes into this series full of renewed confidence and form.

The 35-year-old scored 289 runs at that tournament and passed this mark (with the two exceptions a 26 and 22) in three of his five first-innings knocks during the last Ashes series down under.

Marnus Labuschagne to score a first-innings 50

Labuschagne’s first innings record is unbelievable, with 47 his lowest score in his last 12 knocks.

That run includes five centuries, while his three first-innings scores at Brisbane are 81, 185 and 108.

Dawid Malan to score over 22.5 first-innings runs

Malan was recalled to the England Test side with this series in mind, with his technique against pace and bounce well suited to Australian conditions.

He passed this mark in the first innings of both of his Tests during the summer and scored 56 in the first dig on this ground in 2017.

Josh Hazlewood to be Australia’s top first-innings wicket-taker

Pat Cummins is the favourite in this market, but how he will go while captaining the side is an unknown. With Mitchell Starc’s form so indifferent, Hazlewood is the obvious bet.

He took a 5-fer in the first innings on this ground against India last year and can exploit a surprisingly green pitch for this first Test.
