When are darts tips published?
The Betway Insider produce darts tips on a tournament-by-tournament basis. When there is a major tournament on, darts tips will be published on our website or on our social media channels.
Our darts tips will be published at least one day in advance of the match in question, at the very latest.
What types of darts tips do Betway provide?
The darts betting experts at the Betway Insider produce several different types of darts tips throughout the year.
Ahead of a major event, such as the World Championship, we will provide outright tips for the tournament.
Firstly, our tipsters will pick a winner - the player they believe has the best chance of winning the competition outright.
Alongside their pick to win the tournament, they will also tip a player as an outside shot. This is a player that has been priced up as an outsider in the betting but one they believe still has a good chance of winning the whole thing, or at least providing some each-way value.
Another tip they may produce is a player to win in the quarter-finals. With the draw of the tournament announced ahead of time, this is a player they believe has a great chance of reaching the last four.
One more outright tip they may include is a stage of elimination pick, in which they tip a player to exit the tournament at a particular stage.
As well as these outright tips, our tipsters will also produce match-specific picks throughout the tournament.
These may not always be published on our website, but can be found on our social media channels.
How do you bet on darts?
If you are unsure of how betting odds work, read our handy guide which provides you with all the information you need to start betting.
When you’re ready to place a bet, your first option is to head to the Betway Insider website to read through our experts’ tips. Each article will have a link to the sportsbook, where you can then place your bet.
Otherwise you can head straight to the Betway sportsbook to place your bet.
The most popular market on the sportsbook for darts betting is the match winner market, where you place a bet on the player you believe will win the match.
Another popular market is handicap betting, in which one player is given an advantage over the other so as to even the contest. For example, if a player is a heavy favourite they may be given a handicap of -2.5, meaning they must win the match by at least three legs for the bet to come in. If you bet on the other player, then that bet will come in if they manage to remain within two legs of their opponent.
Aside from betting on the result of matches, you are also able to place bets on several other aspects of a darts match.
For example, you can bet on which player will hit the most 180s or score the highest checkout. These can be combined with the match winner market to form match doubles and trebles, such a certain player to win and also hit the highest checkout.
You can also bet on how many total 180s there will be or how many 180s each player will score. For example, the betting line may be set at 8.5. If you think there are going to be eight or fewer 180s, then you would place a bet on the under. If you believe there will be nine or more, then you would bet on the over.
Likewise, you can bet on the highest checkout in the match or for an individual player. For example, if the betting line is set at 119.5, you would bet on the over if you thought the highest checkout would be 120 or higher and the under if not.
