Here are Tom Clee's tips to help get you started...

MICHAEL SMITH v RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD

Smith to win, under 6.5 total 180s and under 1.5 100+ checkouts in the match –

Last week’s draw with Daryl Gurney means that Smith is still yet to lose to an opponent outside the top four all season.

He’s well worth backing to keep that run going on Thursday, having beaten Van Barneveld in six of their eight meetings since the start of 2014 – including this year’s only whitewash so far on Judgement Night. 

Neither of these two are prolific 180-throwers, having combined for fewer than seven in 11 of their last 13 matches.

They’ve also both failed to hit a ton-plus checkout in six of their last 10, so three-figure finishes are likely to be at a premium.

SIMON WHITLOCK v ROB CROSS

Cross to win, hit the most 180s and no 100+ checkout in the match –

Cross hasn’t won in four, but has come a long way since finding himself bottom of the league after being thrashed 7-1 by Whitlock in week two.

With a place in the play-offs already guaranteed, he looks certain to head to the O2 on the back of a win against an opponent who has lost five out of six games during the second stage of the season.

Cross has hit more than three 180s in nine of his last 13 matches, whereas Whitlock has done so just three times all season.

The Aussie has also gone five weeks without a 100+ checkout, while Cross hasn’t hit one in three.

PETER WRIGHT v DARYL GURNEY

Gurney to win or draw, hit the most 180s and two 100+ checkouts in the match –

Gurney has won four of his last five matches against Wright, so has a decent chance of getting the win he needs to keep his qualification hopes alive.

But, considering these two have shared the points more often than anybody else in the league this season – including a 6-6 draw in week nine – the draw cannot be discounted.

The Northern Irishman rediscovered his range last week with six 180s, taking his total to 63 – more than twice as many as Wright has managed all season.

He’s also hit two ton-plus finishes in three of his last four matches, while Snakebite has managed one in each of his last two.

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN v GARY ANDERSON

Van Gerwen to win, average over 100 and hit a 120+ checkout –

Anderson looks destined to face Van Gerwen in the final four at the O2 next week having lost his last two in a row.

And a run of seven Premier League games without a win against the world No.1, who won his 10^th title of the season with the European Darts Grand Prix at the weekend, mean his chances of a confidence-boosting result in his native Aberdeen look slim.

After slipping below three figures for the first time all season the week before, MVG stormed back to form with a 111.57 average last time out – his highest of the campaign to date.

He also maintained his remarkable run of hefty checkouts with a 144, taking his tally to 10 finishes of 120 or more during his last 10 matches.
