Here are Tom Clee's tips to help get you started...

DARYL GURNEY v MENSUR SULJOVIC

Gurney to win and hit at least twice as many 180s as Suljovic –

Gurney is yet to win a match this season, but he’s only been beaten twice.

That barren run should come to an end against Suljovic, who suffered his fourth defeat in six in Nottingham last week.

The Austrian has the fewest 180s in the tournament, having only twice managed to hit more than one in a single match.

That’s less than half as many as Gurney, who is leading the way with 23, at an average of almost four per game.

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN v MICHAEL SMITH

Van Gerwen to win by over 2.5 legs, hit a 100+ checkout and average over 100 –

Van Gerwen has been winning games at a canter this season, with all five of his victories coming by three legs or more.

Despite having the same number of points on the board, Smith is unlikely to keep pace with the Dutchman.

Bully Boy has the second-lowest average in the tournament at just 92.68, whereas MVG is yet to drop below three figures.

He’s also only once failed to hit a ton-plus finish, with a majestic 152 last week taking his tally to seven in six matches.

GARY ANDERSON v SIMON WHITLOCK

Anderson to win with over 5.5 match 180s and over 1.5 match 100+ checkouts –

It’s remarkable to think Anderson only has one win to his name, given the quality of darts that he’s been throwing.

But that anomaly should start to even out against Whitlock, who is now without a victory in three.

The match treble would be dangerous, though, seeing as the Aussie has hit at least three 180s in each of his last four matches and hit two 100+ checkouts last week.

So it’s safer to back the match totals, with Anderson boasting the second-most maximums in the league and hitting three ton-plus finishes of his own in Nottingham.

PETER WRIGHT v RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD

Van Barneveld to win, hit the most 180s and average under 100 –

Only a 144 checkout in the final leg of the match stopped Van Barneveld from beating Anderson last week.

And Wright, who has slipped into the bottom two following successive 7-1 defeats, is miles away producing such moments of magic to get out of trouble.

Snakebite has hit just a single 180 during the last fortnight, during which time Barney has racked up six.

The Dutchman isn’t on top of his game – averaging under 100 in every week but one so far – but should still take advantage of Wright’s current dip in form.

ROB CROSS v GERWYN PRICE

Cross to win and hit the most 180s and Price to average under 95 –

Cross is on a roll right now, having moved into the play-off spots with a fourth successive win last week.

Nobody has hit more maximums than the world champion since he rediscovered his touch, with a total of 16 in the last four weeks alone.

Price, on the other hand, has managed more than two just once all season.

The Welshman’s average also continues to drop, with his 93.51 on the opening night remaining his best effort to date.
