Here are Tom Clee's tips to help get you started...

SIMON WHITLOCK v GERWYN PRICE

Whitlock to win and hit most 180s and Price to average under 95 –

Whitlock was 6-3 up against Peter Wright last week before eventually having to settle for a draw.

But he should have little trouble registering a first win in six weeks against an opponent with nothing to play for having lost five in a row.

The Wizard hit seven 180s last week alone, while Price has failed to hit a single one in three of his last four matches.

The Welshman’s average also continues to drop, with 93.51 on the opening night remaining his best effort to date.

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD v MICHAEL SMITH

Van Barneveld to win and hit the most 180s and both players to average under 100 –

Van Barneveld’s defeat to MVG last week was the first time in 10 matches that he has lost a regular-season fixture when throwing first.

So the Dutchman should be backed to get the two points against Smith, who he beat at a UK Open qualifier in February in their only meeting during the last 12 months.

For a player regarded as a power scorer, the maximums have dried up of late for Smith – throwing just two in his last three matches, compared to nine for Barney.

These two also boast just one three-figure average between them in 16 attempts this season.

GARY ANDERSON v ROB CROSS

Anderson to win and hit a 100+ checkout and Cross to hit the most 180s –

There’s nothing to separate these two in their prices to win on Thursday, which is surprising given their head-to-head record.

Anderson has won all five times they’ve played each other, three of which have come during the last two months.

The Flying Scotsman has also thrown a ton-plus checkout in all but one of his matches so far, with nine to his name in total.

But he’s been less spectacular on the 180s front recently, throwing fewer than Cross in three of the last four weeks.

MENSUR SULJOVIC v MICHAEL VAN GERWEN

Van Gerwen to win by over 2.5 legs, average over 100 and hit a 110+ checkout –

This tip is the gift that keeps on giving.

MVG has now won six in a row, with all seven of his victories this season coming by three legs or more.

He’s yet to average under three figures all tournament and has hit nine checkouts of 110 or more in eight rounds of matches.

All three of those trends should continue against Suljovic, who needs a minor miracle if he is to avoid elimination in Liverpool.

DARYL GURNEY v PETER WRIGHT

Gurney to win and hit the most 180s and both players to average under 100 –

Wright had a relatively simple passage to the final of the German Darts Grand Prix over the weekend, whereas Gurney had to beat world champion Cross on his way to the semis before running into eventual winner MVG.  

Snakebite has lost the last four meetings between the pair and is without a win in six in the Premier League, while Gurney has put himself in contention with two victories in a row.

A staggering nine maximums last week also means the Northern Irishman is way out in front as the tournament’s top 180 scorer.

He’s only managed a 100 average once, however, a mark that Wright has fallen short of the last four weeks in a row.
