Here are Tom Clee's tips to help get you started...

PETER WRIGHT v MICHAEL SMITH

Smith to hit the most 180s, no 100+ checkout in the match and both players to average under 100 –

Wright took three points off two of the top four in Rotterdam last week. So, despite getting thrashed 7-1 by Smith in week six, it’s probably best to swerve the result in the first match of the evening.

After a slight slump on the 180s front, Smith rattled in six the last time he took to the stage, whereas Wright has the fewest of any player left in the tournament.

But, with only six 100+ checkouts in their last 16 games between them, don’t expect many fireworks when it comes to finishing.

Smith has still only averaged three figures once all season, while Wright hasn’t done so for the last eight weeks running.

DARYL GURNEY v MICHAEL VAN GERWEN

Van Gerwen to win by over 2.5 legs, hit a 120+ checkout and over 7.5 total 180s –

Van Gerwen lost consecutive matches in the same Premier League season for the first time ever last week, but can be relied upon to bounce back on Thursday.

The Dutchman has won 13 of his last 15 meetings with Gurney, including the last seven in a row, while all of his Premier League victories this year have been by at least three legs.

He’s hit nine ton-plus finishes during the last six weeks, six of which have been clocked at 120 or more.

With 100 maximums between them this season, this pair should also treat us to plenty of 180s.

SIMON WHITLOCK v GARY ANDERSON

Anderson to win by over 2.5 legs, hit the most 180s and a 100+ checkout –

Anderson was superb in Rotterdam, winning all three matches with a combined average of 106.5.

He’s now won all four of his matches during the second phase of the season with a leg difference of +18, whereas Whitlock has lost all four of his by an average of four legs each.

The Flying Scotsman is the only man to keep pace with Gurney when it comes to 180s, having brought up his half-century for the season last week.

He’s only failed to hit a 100+ checkout in two of his 13 games so far, hitting a 170 last Thursday and three in a single match the night before that.

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD v ROB CROSS

Cross to win, hit the most 180s and hit a 100+ checkout –

Van Barneveld gave himself an outside chance of making the play-offs last week with back-to-back wins in his native Netherlands.

But he’s likely to see that extinguished by an opponent who has beaten him on all four occasions that they’ve ever played.

The Dutchman has only hit two 100+ finishes in his last eight matches, whereas Cross reeled off three in Rotterdam last week alone.

The world champion has also racked up a minimum of four 180s in eight of his last 11 games, while Barney has only reached that figure three times during the same period.

MICHAEL SMITH v MICHAEL VAN GERWEN

Van Gerwen to win by over 3.5 legs, average over 100 and under 7.5 total 180s –

All four of Smith’s defeats this season were against fellow top-four opponents, so he looks to have little chance in the final match of the evening.

He’s lost nine of his last 10 games against the world No.1, with a 6-5 scoreline in the Austrian Darts Open the only time he’s ever come close in defeat.

Despite losing both of his matches in Rotterdam, MVG’s average is still yet to dip below three figures all tournament.

Playing a double header might see him slow up on the 180s, though, with the six players who have done so before him combining for just 10 in three matches to round off the night.
