Here are Tom Clee's darts betting tips for Thursday's two semi-finals, plus an advance 14/1 Betway Boost on how the potential final might play out.

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN v DARYL GURNEY

Van Gerwen (-3.5), Van Gerwen under 4.5 180s, Van Gerwen over 1.5 100+ checkouts

Van Gerwen topped the Premier League table for the seventh year in a row last week, pipping Rob Cross to the £25,000 prize.

MVG ended Gurney's three-match winning streak against him earlier this month with a 7-3 victory at the Austrian Darts Open, and he looks a good bet to record a similarly emphatic result on Thursday.

The world No. 1’s last nine wins in this competition have all been by three legs or more and, over a longer best-of-19 format, he can certainly stretch that margin to four.

The same goes for his finishing, having managed eight 100+ checkouts in his last four regular matches, though probably not his 180 scoring.

Van Gerwen has the fewest maximums of any player to make it past Judgement Night, hitting more than three just four times all season.

Given his readiness to switch to 19s when things aren't going well, it's hard to see him racking up five or more.

ROB CROSS v JAMES WADE

Cross to win, Cross most 180s, both players to checkout over 116.5

Wade's 8-6 victory last week meant that only two points separated this pair in the table over the course of four months.

But Cross hasn't lost back-to-back matches all season, and he’s the player I'd rather side with.

He's been the more consistent and has come up with some clutch moments when he's really needed them (beating Gurney and Jeffrey de Zwaan in their own back yards, for example).

He's racked up the most 180s of any player in the final four by a distance, and outhrew Wade 3-1 and 4-3 during their two matches this season.

These two boast the most checkouts above this mark since the campaign began, and both come into this in good touch.

Wade has thrown six 120+ finishes in his last four games, while Cross has got seven of 117 or more in his last eight.

FINAL

Van Gerwen to beat Cross, Cross most 180s, over 3.5 total 100+ checkouts

Should these two make it through their semis, then it's easy to predict how the final might pan out.

Van Gerwen has won 13 of his last 15 matches against Cross, and spurned five match darts in one of the two exceptions at the 2018 World Championship.

The Dutchman has won all five of their meetings in this competition with three 7-2 scorelines, an 8-2 five weeks ago and a 10-6 victory in last year's semi-final.

As already mentioned, these two have vastly differing strike rates on the 180s, with Cross throwing 15 in the last three weeks compared to four for MVG.

They've combined for 19 three-figure checkouts in the seven weeks since the switch to a best-of-14 format.

With a maximum of 21 legs to be played in the final, they should easily manage four or more between them.
