Dave Chisnall v Josh Payne: Over 9.5 180s
Considering Chisnall was knocked out in the first round last year and taken the distance the year before that, there’s not much value to be found in backing a match winner combination here.
Chizzy’s power scoring has always been the most consistent part of his game and, against Josh Payne - who hit four 180s on Saturday as well as 12 scores of 140 or more - we should reach double figures when it comes to maximums.
Matthew Edgar v Darius Labanauskas: Highest checkout under 126.5
Heading into Sunday’s action, only four of 20 matches have seen a checkout higher than this benchmark.
Edgar is only taking part at Ally Pally because Corey Cadby was forced to withdraw, while Labanauskas made it through the PDC Nordic and Baltic qualifiers.
Without writing either of them off, it would be a surprise should this match produce a big three-figure finish.
Peter Wright to win, hit the most 180s and highest checkout
Toni Alcinas was unspectacular in only dropping one leg against Craig Ross last night, failing to throw a single 180 and only once checking out higher than 76.
That was against an opponent playing in his first televised match so, against the world No.3, he’s even less likely to find the flourishes that might threaten the Wright match treble.
