PREMIER LEAGUE
Top pick: Manchester United
The last four Premier League 4 To Score winners were all big home favourites, and there’s no bigger home favourite this weekend than Manchester United against the out-of-form Huddersfield.
Five of the last six 4TS winners had also lost their previous match, meaning United once again fit the bill.
Honourable mention: West Brom
West Brom, bolstered by the form of Jay Rodriguez and signing of Daniel Sturridge, were 4TS winners at home to Brighton three weeks ago.
The Baggies have a winnable game at home to Southampton, who have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 Premier League games.
CHAMPIONSHIP
Top pick: Aston Villa
Villa are the fastest starters in the Championship, having scored 13 goals inside the first 20 minutes of games – the most in the division.
They were two up after seven minutes against Barnsley in their last home game, and are a solid choice again when they host struggling Burton.
Nigel Clough’s side have conceded 12 in their last three games, and were behind after 20 minutes in each of their last two.
Honourable mentions: Norwich, Fulham
Norwich were last week’s 4 To Score winners, and could go back-to-back at home to a Middlesbrough side that have conceded the earliest goal on three occasions this season.
Fulham have notched nine goals in their last two Championship games, as well as 10 in their last three at home.
The Cottagers should score early and often against three-time 4TS losers Nottingham Forest.
LEAGUE ONE
Top pick: Northampton
Ten of the last 16 League One 4 To Score goals have been conceded by teams 18th or lower in the table, so, with six of the seven sides to which that applies playing each other this weekend, at least we know where to look.
Northampton are probably the best bet, having scored the division’s fastest goal for a third time this season in their last home match two weeks ago.
Their opponents Rochdale have gone behind inside eight minutes in four of their last seven away games.
Honourable mentions: MK Dons, Blackpool
Only Oldham’s matches have seen more goals during the first 10 minutes of matches than the five scored and six conceded by MK Dons this season.
Dan Micciche's side a good shout to even up those tallies up against a Walsall side that have lost five of their last eight and conceded inside the first five minutes in three of them.
Blackpool are also worth considering, given opponents Bury have twice conceded the division’s earliest goal since 23 December.
LEAGUE TWO
Top pick: Coventry
Forest Green have been slow starters even since their promotion to the Football League.
Mark Cooper’s side have shipped 11 goals in the opening 20 minutes of matches – more than any other side in League Two – including two third-minute strikes in their last four.
Promotion-chasing Coventry have bagged six in their last two league games and have scored the opener in seven of their last eight.
Honourable mentions: Notts County, Crawley
Second-placed Notts County should start fast against Crewe, who have conceded the first goal of the day six times already and are the most common losers in the top-four divisions.
Crawley have won five out of six and scored 10 in their last five, so an early goal against Chesterfield, who have kept just one clean sheet in 13, seems likely.
