PREMIER LEAGUE

Top pick: Liverpool

Burnley’s early strike against Manchester United on Boxing Day was the first time in eight weeks that Premier League 4 To Score has been won by a top-half side.

That could become two in two on Saturday. Liverpool netted after just six minutes at home to Swansea on Boxing Day – a match they eventually won 5-0 – while Leicester have conceded in each of their last six away matches.

Honourable mention: Everton

Everton haven't scored in their last two matches, but eight of the last 10 Premier League 4 To Score winners have been away sides.

Bournemouth aren’t very good defensively. They went 1-0 down to West Ham after just seven minutes last time out and have conceded 13 times in their last four matches.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Top pick: Leeds

Of the 19 Championship 4 To Score winners this season, 11 were playing away from home, and Leeds look the likeliest travelling team to bag an early goal on Saturday.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have scored in 12 successive Championship games, and should have plenty of chances to find the net against a Birmingham team that have let in eight goals in the first 15 minutes of games this season.

Honourable mentions: Sunderland, Norwich

Sunderland are a solid pick this weekend given that they are playing Forest, who have been the 4 To Score losers in three of the last seven weeks.

Norwich are also an obvious choice away from home against a Burton side that have let in 43 goals this season – the joint-most in the Championship.

LEAGUE ONE

Top pick: Peterborough

Peterborough have won three games on the bounce and scored 13 goals in their last five games.

They’ve taken the lead inside 14 minutes in four of those, and are a tempting pick against an MK Dons side that have conceded the division’s earliest goal five times already this season.

Honourable mentions: Plymouth, Scunthorpe

Plymouth have hit two 4 To Score winning goals in the last two months, and could easily make that three away to Blackpool, who were 2-0 down inside eight minutes at home on Boxing Day.

It was Scunthorpe who made that fast start at Bloomfield Road, meaning the Iron are now League One’s most dominant team during the first 10 minutes of matches with six unanswered goals.

They look a decent outside bet against Blackburn who, despite a good run of form, have conceded first in two of their last four matches.

LEAGUE TWO

Top pick: Cambridge United

No team have conceded the first goal in League Two more often than Crewe, so their opponents Cambridge are worth backing to net earliest in League Two on Saturday.

The U’s have scored in 10 of their last 13 home games, while David Artell’s visitors have the fifth-worst defence in the division.

Honourable mention: Luton

The Hatters have scored 24 goals in eight matches as they blitz their way to promotion.

A 5-0 win at top-half Swindon on Boxing Day means that they are in perfect shape heading to Port Vale.
