Liverpool to beat Fulham and Mo Salah to score (12:30)

Liverpool looked extremely sharp in the Community Shield against Man City, so we can expect them to win this game easily – just as they saw off newly-promoted Norwich 3-0 on the opening day last season.

Salah has scored on the opening weekend in each of his five seasons at Liverpool so far and a repeat performance should ensure that this bet lands.

He comes into this season having won his third Golden Boot in five.

Union Berlin to beat Hertha Berlin (14:30)

Union ended last season with six victories from their final seven league matches to secure another season of European football.

Urs Fischer’s side beat their city rivals 4-1 at the Olympiastadion as part of that run, which was their third straight victory in the derby.

They can make it four against a Hertha side that only stayed up after a relegation play-off.

Monaco to beat Strasbourg (16:00)

Monaco come into this having won nine and drawn one of their final 10 Ligue 1 matches last season.

They look a big price here, especially considering they had the division’s fourth-best away record.

Strasbourg are decent opposition, but at this price it’s worth going with the visitors.

Under 2.5 goals in Everton v Chelsea (17:30)

Both of these teams have issues upfront, with Everton lacking a recognised centre-forward completely.

The Toffees saw under 2.5 goals land in seven of their last nine home games of last season, including at home to Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Tomas Tuchel’s side have had a disjointed pre-season and have amazingly scored a total of one goal in their last five games at Goodison Park.

Over 3.5 goals in Borussia Dortmund v Bayer Leverkusen (17:30)

The league fixtures between these sides finished 5-2 and 4-3 last season.

Of the 12 games between the top four sides (these two, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig) there were at least four goals in nine of them.

With both teams fresh, an opening-day shoot-out seems likely.
