Everton to beat Southampton (15:00)

Southampton fell off a cliff in the second half of last season, losing 15 of their final 21 league games.

The Saints look to have gone backwards in summer, with top scorer Danny Ings moving to Aston Villa and defender Jannik Vestergaard looking likely to go to Leicester.

Everton’s biggest summer move was to bring in Rafa Benitez as manager, but this tip is more to do with Southampton’s problems than anything else.

Fulham to beat Huddersfield (15:00)

Fulham started life under Slavisa Jokanovic with a 1-1 draw against promotion chasers Middlesbrough.

The Cottagers look an attractive prospect having managed to keep hold of full back Antonee Robinson, while Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored 26 and 25 goals in his last two full seasons at this level.

Relegation candidates laboured to a 1-1 draw with crisis club Derby last weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Doncaster (15:00)

Sheffield Wednesday have started this season with back-to-back 0-0 draws against Huddersfield and fellow promotion contenders Charlton.

The Owls have kept hold of key players like Barry Bannan and Josh Windass over summer and come into this with one of the best squads in the division.

Doncaster lost 2-1 at home to AFC Wimbledon in their opener and were held to a goalless draw by League Two Walsall in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Rochdale to beat Scunthorpe (15:00)

Scunthorpe look to be living up to their tag as relegation candidates after losing back-to-back games to start their campaign.

The Iron were beaten 3-1 by Swindon on the opening day despite going 1-0 up in the second half and lost 1-0 at Barrow in the EFL Cup.

Rochdale lost 3-2 at Harrogate last Saturday, but have a great chance to get off the mark here.

Liverpool to beat Norwich & over 3.5 goals (17:30)

Liverpool have won eight of their last nine meetings with Norwich, with four or more goals scored in six of the last eight.

Jurgen Klopp’s side thumped the Canaries 4-1 on the opening day at Anfield in 2019, and they were 4-3 winners against then-promoted side Leeds in the first game of 2020/21.

Norwich finished last season with two defeats from their last three at Carrow Road, while there were at least four goals in five of their last seven league games.

Hull v QPR (15:00)

Hull hammered Preston 4-1 on the opening weekend, with exciting young forward Keane Lewis-Potter netting in both that match and Tuesday’s 1-1 Carabao Cup tie with Wigan.

The Tigers have scored in 16 of their last 17 matches overall.

QPR have scored in all of their last 12 matches, including in Saturday’s entertaining 1-1 draw with Millwall.

AFC Wimbledon v Bolton (15:00)

AFC Wimbledon opened their campaign with an impressive 2-1 win at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Dons have scored in eight of their last 10 matches, with BTTS landing in all of their last four home games of last term.

Bolton drew 3-3 with MK Dons in their opener on Saturday and have scored in 17 of their last 18 away games.

Swindon v Carlisle (15:00)

Swindon won 3-1 at Scunthorpe on Saturday and are building an exciting, attacking team under new ownership.

They play Carlisle, who failed to score despite taking 18 shots against Colchester on Saturday.

The Cumbrians had the most shots in League Two last season, so the goals will soon start flowing.

Harry Maguire (Man Utd) to score v Leeds (12:30)

Leeds conceded more goals from set-pieces than any Premier League team last season, shipping nine goals to centre-backs.

That includes conceding to Victor Lindelof in this fixture, but it is worth a punt on his partner Maguire to net this time around.

The England defender ranked third for shots per game of all Premier League centre-backs last season and netted in a pre-season friendly against Everton last weekend.

Kai Havertz (Chelsea) to score v Crystal Palace (15:00)

After netting the winner in the Champions League final and twice during the Euros, it feels like Havertz is ready to explode this season.

The German ranks top for xG per 90 minutes in Chelsea’s squad in 2021 and also scored in pre-season against Arsenal.

Crystal Palace’s new-look defence could hardly have been presented with a tougher task in its first league game so Havertz should have plenty of chances.
