WIN/DRAW/WIN

Blackburn to beat Cardiff (12:30)

Blackburn come into this having dropped just four points in a nine-match unbeaten run in the league.

Tony Mowbray’s side are top of the Championship form table and are third in the division.

Cardiff are two places above the relegation zone and are winless in four league games.

Middlesbrough to beat Reading (15:00)

Reading were thumped 7-0 at home to Fulham in midweek, having lost 2-1 at National League North Kidderminster last weekend in the FA Cup.

The Royals have won just two of their last 13 matches in all competitions and are just three points above the relegation zone.

Middlesbrough have won six and drawn one of their last seven matches, including three straight victories to nil at the Riverside.

Mansfield to beat Walsall (15:00)

Mansfield moved level on points with the play-offs following their 3-2 victory over promotion rivals Swindon in midweek.

That was their 11th victory in their last 13 matches and seventh in eight at Field Mill.

Walsall were beaten 3-1 at Stevenage last weekend and have lost three away games on the bounce.

Forest Green to beat Northampton (15:00)

Top-of-the-league Forest Green went nine points clear of second with a game in hand after their 2-0 victory over Colchester on Tuesday.

Rob Edwards’ side are unbeaten in 12 league games, winning nine and drawing three.

Northampton have lost back-to-back matches against Crawley and Swindon.

Rayo Vallecano to beat Girona (17:30)

Rayo Vallecano came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at home to in-form Real Betis last weekend.

The Franjirrojos have won four of their last seven matches in all competitions, with their only defeats 10 coming away to Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.

Second-tier Girona are in decent form themselves, but are yet to face any side of Vallecano’s quality in their cup run thus far.

GOALS

BTTS & over 2.5 goals in Newcastle v Watford (15:00)

Newcastle have only failed to score against Chelsea and Man City in their last nine league home matches.

Considering that Watford haven’t kept a Premier League clean sheet all season, at least one home goal seems likely.

This bet has landed in seven of the Hornets’ last eight games, including a 4-2 and two 4-1s.

BTTS in Bradford v Salford (15:00)

Bradford have scored and conceded in 13 of their last 15 games.

BTTS has landed in 10 of 14 matches at Valley Parade this season.

Salford have scored in their last eight away games.

Over 3.5 goals in Borussia Monchengladbach v Bayer Leverkusen (17:30)

There have been at least four goals in five of Borussia Monchengladbach’s last seven games.

They play Bayer Leverkusen, who have seen this land in five of their last six in the Bundesliga.

Saturday’s visitors won the reverse fixture 4-0 in August.

MYTHBUSTER

Aston Villa draw no bet v Man Utd (17:30)

Aston Villa weren’t much worse than Man Utd when the sides met in the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Monday, so are very capable of picking up a result back at Villa Park on Saturday.

Villa have had a tough schedule since Steven Gerrard took over as manager, but have still only lost to Man City and Chelsea at Villa Park.

Man Utd have only scored more than once in one of Ralf Rangnick’s seven games in charge, at home to Burnley.

ANYTIME GOALSCORER

Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) to score v Watford

There is plenty of value in backing Saint-Maximin to be among the goalscorers at St James’ Park.

All of the Frenchman’s four goals this season have come at home, while he has taken 2.1 shots per game – 27th in the league and 0.3 more than new strike partner Chris Wood.

Watford have conceded 20 goals in their last seven matches.
