BTTS in Millwall v Burnley (19:00)

This bet would have landed in Millwall’s two previous EFL Cup matches against League Two sides Cheltenham and Crawley, both of which they won 3-1.

Six of Burnley’s last eight matches in all competitions have seen both teams score, including both of their games so far this season.

There were also goals at both ends in all of the Clarets’ last four cup ties against sides from a lower division.

Brighton to beat Preston (19:00)

Brighton have responded to their opening-weekend defeat to Chelsea with back-to-back victories against Portsmouth and Newcastle in the league and cup.

The Seagulls have scored seven goals without reply in those matches and look a generous price to add a third straight victory.

Preston have taken one point from their opening two league games and have lost their last five cup games against Premier League opposition.

BTTS in Chelsea v Barnsley (19:45)

Chelsea have already conceded three goals against Liverpool and Brighton so far this season and, while Barnsley will provide an easier test, their defensive record against EFL teams makes this bet worthwhile.

BTTS would have landed in all of Chelsea’s last eight EFL Cup matches against lower-league sides, most recently in their 7-1 victory over Grimsby last season.

With what is likely to be an inexperienced and weakened defence, Barnsley should get plenty of chances to score at least once.

Everton (-1) to beat Fleetwood (19:45}

Everton coasted past League Two Salford in the previous round of the EFL Cup last week, beating them 3-0.

While Fleetwood are from a division higher, the quality in the Toffees’ starting XI last week – including Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Moise Kean – should be enough for a comfortable victory.

Joey Barton’s side conceded two stoppage-time goals to lose 2-1 at Peterborough last weekend and another defeat looks likely.

Ryan Fraser (Newcastle) to score v Morecambe (19:45)

Fraser scored the only goal of the game against Blackburn on his only start for Newcastle so far in the previous round of the EFL Cup.

With Steve Bruce easing him into the side, he is likely to feature from the start again on Wednesday and, as a forward-thinking Premier League winger, you have to fancy him against League Two full backs.

Morecambe were thumped 5-0 by Cambridge in the league on Saturday and have conceded nine goals in five games in all competitions so far this season.
