£25 QUALIFICATION BET (TO PLACE BEFORE 23:59 BST ON FRIDAY)

I’m starting off my qualifying bet with the game of the weekend on Friday night, and backing Hertha to do the business in the Berlin derby. They eased to a 3-0 victory at Hoffenheim last weekend, while Union were beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich.

Obviously that’s not a fair comparison of opposition, but Union looked understandably leggy and are without their manager, who is currently under quarantine, while that result means they have won one in six.

Next, it’s Freiburg on Saturday afternoon. They only conceded late on to draw 1-1 with RB Leipzig last weekend, while second-bottom Werder Bremen were thumped 4-1 by Leverkusen – their sixth defeat in seven matches.

Dortmund round off the coupon. Lucien Favre’s side were the biggest winners over restart weekend as they hammered rivals Schalke 4-0 in the Revierderby. That was their eighth victory in nine, so they look in good shape for another three points.

FIRST £5 FREE BET (AVAILABLE AT 12:00 BST ON SATURDAY)

The opening pick in my first free bet comes from Germany’s second tier in shape of Hannover. They were 3-0 winners at Nuremberg last weekend and have the third-best away record in the 2. Bundesliga.

Kenan Kocak’s side travel to Osnabruck, who haven’t won in nine matches.

Going up a level, it’s Leverkusen who are next on the slip. They thumped Werder Bremen 4-1 on Monday night, maintaining their impressive form from before the restart to notch their 10th victory in 11 matches.

With last weekend showing that home advantage is diminished behind closed doors, their odds to beat Monchengladbach look generous here.

Finally, I expect both teams to score in Paderborn v Hoffenheim. Paderborn have the equal second-highest BTTS ratio of any side in the Bundesliga, with both teams scoring in 17 of their 26 matches.

BTTS, meanwhile, has landed in five of Hoffenheim’s last eight matches.
