BASEL v MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City and Under 2.5 goals –

Basel are good enough in defence to not let Manchester City run away with this tie in the first leg.

The Swiss side beat Manchester United 1-0 at St. Jacob-Park in the group stage, and have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five matches.

That said, City have won eight of their last 10, so should still seal victory.

Sergio Aguero to score –

Aguero shot into Premier League golden boot contention with four goals against Leicester on Saturday.

The Argentine has scored 13 goals in 2018, and netted in all of City’s away games in the group stage.

Taulant Xhaka to be carded -

Xhaka, incredibly, has been booked 12 times this season, including in four of his five Champions League appearances.

The 26-year-old has only gone back-to-back matches without being carded just twice since August.

David Silva to be carded -

Silva trained with City on Monday, so is a good bet to feature in this match and continue his sequence of yellow cards.

The Spaniard has been carded in five of his last 11 matches, including his last two.
