Bayern Munich to win

Bayern Munich have only been beaten by Real Madrid in their last 29 Champions League home matches, and that record looks unlikely to fall here.

The German side have won 22 of those matches, including wins over Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal (twice).

Liverpool’s emotional energy is invested in the Premier League, so it would be a surprise if they reversed the trend of losing every away game in this competition so far this season.

Under 1.5 Liverpool goals

Liverpool have failed to score more than once in any of their last six away games, including in matches at Manchester City and Manchester United.

They managed a total of one goal in their three away games in the group stage, and take on a side that haven’t conceded more than once in any of their last seven home matches.

Javi Martinez to be carded

Martinez has committed more fouls than any other Bayern player in the Champions League this season, ranking second for tackles.

That makes him a sensible bet for a card against a Liverpool side that have drawn a booking from an opposition midfielder in two of their three European away games this term.

Jordan Henderson to be carded

Henderson is likely to be recalled to Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI here, and he looks a good bet to replicate his card from the first leg.

The 28-year-old has received six yellows and a red overall this season and ranks inside the top six for both tackles and fouls in the Reds’ squad in this competition.
