Wolves to beat Sunderland –

Sunderland achieved their first game in 17 a fortnight ago, but followed that up with a 3-1 defeat at home to Reading last week.

That was the Black Cats’ fourth loss in seven league games and leaves them second-bottom, level on points with 24th-placed Burton.

Wolves beat local rivals Birmingham 1-0 on Monday to extend their lead at the top to four points, and have now won six on the bounce.

Preston to beat Burton –

Burton were beaten 1-0 away to Derby last week and have now managed just one win in 13.

That result left the Brewers bottom of the table and two points from safety.

Preston are currently on a four-match unbeaten run and have recorded impressive victories over third-placed Bristol City and QPR during the last fortnight.

League One table-toppers Wigan beat Rotherham 3-1 in their last league game and have won seven of their last 10.

They are also have the division’s best home record, having dropped just seven points at the DW Stadium.

Fleetwood are without a win in their last five league matches and have lost back-to-back away games.

Blackburn to beat Peterborough –

Blackburn had won four in a row in the league before losing a three-goal lead to Crewe in the FA Cup after being reduced to nine men.

But Rovers are still unbeaten in 11 in all competitions and have dropped just four points in their last seven league games.

Peterborough were held at National League Woking on Sunday in the cup and have won just two league games in 11.

Chesterfield to beat Barnet –

Barnet’s revival under Mark McGhee was short-lived, as they followed up their 2-1 victory over Newport with a 2-0 loss at home to Grimsby last time out.

That was their ninth defeat in a 14-game run that has seen them win just once.

Chesterfield have improved since Jack Lester was appointed manager at end of September and have just won back-to-back home league games for the first time this season.
