Marcus Thuram (Borussia Monchengladbach)

One of several French attackers to leave Ligue 1 for the Bundesliga last summer, Thuram has surpassed expectations in his debut campaign at Monchengladbach.

His 10 goals and eight assists have helped catapult Borussia into the Champions League positions and have reportedly attracted interest from Juventus and Liverpool.

Playing from the left, Thuram has the mind of a striker. He is direct with the ball, incredibly strong and takes lots of shots: a perfect recipe for the Bundesliga and one day, perhaps, for the Premier League.

Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

Telling you to keep an eye on one of the greatest footballers of the decade is hardly novel, but the rebirth of Muller as a top performer this season is noteworthy.

The appointment of Hansi Flick, and with it a return to a more traditional Bayern style, has seen Muller reintegrated back into the first team as a second striker behind Robert Lewandowski.

The rewards have been instant. The German has racked up 18 assists – the most of any player in Europe’s top five divisions – and may even have rekindled his international career.

Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Dortmund)

In the absence of Erling Haaland, Dortmund’s only natural centre-forward, Hazard’s role becomes even more pivotal.

While the Belgian does not lead the line in the same style, his ability to occupy the centre-backs as well as drop deep and link the play with Jadon Sancho and Julian Brandt was crucial to last week’s 6-1 hammering of Paderborn.

The movement and technicality of that front three holds the key to Dortmund ending Hertha Berlin’s excellent run of form on Saturday evening.

Jhon Cordoba (Cologne)

Cordoba’s goals are arguably the difference between Cologne being virtually safe from relegation and deep in trouble.

His goals have directly resulted in his side picking up six extra points this season – they are seven points clear of 16^th – with a predatory instinct and a powerful shot his best attributes.

A Bundesliga goals tally that is only bettered by Robert Lewandowski, Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho is bound to have attracted interest from Germany and beyond, but seeing off Augsburg on Sunday will be his first focus.
