Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt: Robert Lewandowski

There is really only one choice you can make here, and that’s Bundesliga top scorer Robert Lewandowski.

The Bayern striker has scored 26 goals this season to lead the Golden Boot race by five, and scored the opener in a 2-0 win over Union Berlin last weekend.

The league leaders have scored first in four of their last five in the league at home, while Frankfurt have conceded first in four of their last five on the road.

Schalke v Augsburg: Florian Niederlechner

Neither of these teams were particularly inspiring last week, but Niederlechner seems the safest choice from either team.

The striker has scored 11 goals this season, four of which were the first of the match.

Schalke were dreadful at Dortmund last week, and none of their players have scored more than seven goals this season.

Adam Drury

Mainz v Leipzig: Timo Werner

Leipzig were disappointing in a 1-1 draw with Freiburg last weekend but now face a Mainz defence that has conceded the second-most goals in the Bundesliga this season.

The visitors look the side to focus on here, then, and Werner – the league’s second-highest scorer – is the clear choice.

He has an incredible record against Mainz, scoring 10 goals in his last seven games against them including a hat-trick when Leipzig won the reverse fixture 8-0 in November.

Jack Green

Cologne v Dusseldorf: Mark Uth

Uth scored the second-earliest goal of the round last weekend, netting a sixth-minute penalty against Mainz.

While that was only his fifth goal of the season, they have all come in his last seven appearances for Cologne.

Dusseldorf’s goalless draw at bottom-of-the-league Paderborn last weekend, meanwhile, would suggest there’s little point picking an visiting player.
