Here are five football tips that Jack Green thinks you should consider for Werder Bremen v Bayer Leverkusen on Monday evening.

Bayer Leverkusen to win

Leverkusen have won 11 of their 13 matches in all competitions in 2020, and should return from the break in winning fashion against a struggling Werder Bremen side.

The hosts have lost six of their last eight games, with five of those defeats coming by a margin of at least two goals.

Over 1.5 Leverkusen goals

Werder Bremen have conceded at least two goals in each of their last eight matches in all competitions, so Leverkusen will surely bag a couple here.

Peter Bosz’s side have scored 14 goals in their last five Bundesliga games, including putting four past both Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leverkusen to keep a clean sheet

Leverkusen are by no means a great defensive side, but they shouldn’t have much trouble keeping out Werder Bremen, who are very poor going forward.

The hosts have lost their last five home games to nil, and have only scored in two of their last nine Bundesliga matches.

Kai Havertz to score

Havertz has scored nine goals this season and went into the break in great form, with five in his last eight matches.

He scored twice in his last visit to Bremen in 2018 and can get on the scoresheet again this time around.

Marco Friedl to be carded

Friedl has been booked seven times this season – the most of any Werder Bremen player – with six of those cards coming in the Bundesliga.

All seven of his bookings came in his last 11 appearances, so he looked nailed-on for a card if he starts on Monday night.
