TO WIN – France

A case can be made for any team in the top six in the betting (Spain, England, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Germany) to win the tournament, but it’s France who hold the best claim.

Corinne Diacre’s side is packed with exciting young talent like Paris Saint-Germain players Sandy Baltimore and Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who has scored 25 goals in 30 international appearances.

Les Bleues are in great form, coming into the tournament on the back of a 12-match winning streak that stretches back for more than a year.

Crucially, France find themselves in the half of the draw that would see them avoid Spain or Germany until the semi-final if they win Group D, while they would be unlikely to meet England or the Netherlands until the final.

Each-way – Norway

At such a lengthy price, there is some each-way value in backing a team as talented as Norway.

There don’t look to be any teams at the tournament capable of outclassing the 2013 finalists, who have an attack featuring Caroline Graham Hansen and Ada Hegerberg.

Both of those players featured in the defeat to Germany nine years ago, but given the pair are only now 27 and 26 years old respectively, you can expect their added maturity to shine through here.

The return of Hegerberg after a five-year absence, too, cannot be understated.

If they can outperform England in Group A, their price is sure to tumble.

GOLDEN BOOT – Vivianne Miedema

This is an obvious choice, but one that makes sense.

Miedema is the Women’s Super League’s all-time top scorer with 74 coming across a period of five seasons.

Fourteen of those goals came last term, which made Miedema the top-scoring European in the Women’s Super League, second only to Australian Sam Kerr, who bagged 20 for Chelsea.

In the last six editions of the tournament – since the expansion to eight or more teams – the Golden Boot has come from one of the final four.

The Netherlands are reigning European champions, while they have at least made the semi-finals on two of their three appearances at the tournament.

With them in the half of the draw that will likely see them avoid France and one of Germany or Spain until the latter stages, this bet could have legs.

Each-way – Ada Hegerberg

Hegerberg is making her return to international tournament football after making herself available for selection again earlier this year following a five-year hiatus.

Her presence is a gamechanger for the Norwegian national team and in the Golden Boot betting where, at this price, she is surely of each-way value.

Norway should be fancied to get out of Group A alongside England, with Austria and Northern Ireland making up their other opposition.

The Norwegian is also the all-time top scorer in the Champions League with 59 goals in 49 matches, so clearly knows her way around tournament football.

She also netted 16 in 26 in all competitions for Lyon last season, so is in decent form.
