Rudy Gestede (Middlesbrough) –

Brighton have conceded directly from a set-piece in four of their last six matches, which bodes well for Middlesbrough’s most dangerous aerial presence.

Not that Gestede only scores from dead-ball situations.

The Benin international has been a regular under Tony Pulis, and started and scored with a tidy finish against Sunderland in the third round round.

Marc McNulty (Coventry) –

McNulty is scoring relentlessly in League Two and can continue that form against an MK Dons, who are currently in the League One relegation zone.

The 25-year-old has scored 10 times in his last 12 matches, a sequence that includes his strike in the second round against Boreham Wood.

The out-of-form MK Dons are prime candidates for a shock this weekend, and McNulty will be central to Coventry’s efforts.

Jon Stead (Notts County) –

Stead is enjoying something of a renaissance at Notts County, netting 14 goals in each of his last two seasons.

The striker is on course to better that tally this term and, having scored in each of his last five matches – including in the last round at Brentford – he is the logical player to back here.

Stead’s Premier League experience could prove important against Swansea, while he also netted in Bradford’s win at Chelsea at this stage three years ago.

James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) –

Ward-Prowse must have made scoring more goals a New Year’s resolution.

Having not netted all season, the England international put Southampton through to the fourth round with the winner at Fulham three weeks ago, before notching twice against Saturday’s opponents Watford in the league game between the two sides a week later.

All three goals have been from inside the area – so the 24-year-old is evidently being encouraged to get forward as often as possible – while he remains a dead-ball specialist.
