Manchester City v Liverpool - 

Rarely does a Premier League fixture so blatantly promise goals.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been virtually flawless against fellow top-six sides, a run that includes never losing against Manchester City in the league.

Considering, too, the form that they showed against Arsenal, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane virtually guarantee the visitors a goal on Saturday.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have only failed to score twice in their last 23 home league games, with their attack far too strong for Liverpool’s defence.

Aston Villa v Brentford - 

Despite varied results, both teams have scored in Aston Villa’s last four matches.

Considering Steve Bruce’s side have scored nine goals in their last three outings, it’s fair to assume they are only just warming up.

Brentford, meanwhile, may be 23^rd, but they have fired off more shots than any other side this season, so an upturn in their fortunes is surely imminent.

They managed four in the EFL Cup at QPR last month – confirming that suspicion – and should fulfil their side of the bargain when it comes to both sides scoring.

Charlton v Southend - 

Goals have come easily for Charlton so far this season.

The Addicks have scored eight times in their last three matches, and managed four in their last game at The Valley against Bristol Rovers.

Southend, though, will make an impact themselves.

Phil Brown’s side have scored four times in their last two away games, and conceded five in their other at Rotherham.

Peterborough v Bradford -

Peterborough are League One’s top goalscorers and are a near-certainty to score against Bradford on Saturday.

Grant McCann’s side have scored in 12 consecutive matches at London Road, and have plundered four against Bristol Rovers and Northampton so far this season.

The last three games involving Bradford, meanwhile, have produced 16 goals, with both sides scoring in all of them.

Considering the Bantams have netted seven times in their last two away matches, it would be a big surprise if they didn’t score, too.

Newport v Wycombe - 

Both teams have scored in all of Wycombe’s league games so far this season, and this one will not break the pattern.

The Chairboys have scored at least twice in all of those matches, with striker Adebayo Akinfenwa the division’s joint-second top scorer.

Newport, meanwhile, scored four goals in their only home game of the season so far as part of an impressive start to the season.

Anything like a repeat guarantees that both sides will score in this game.
