Bayern’s first ever Champions Cup match finished 3-3 against AC Milan two years ago, and I think there is value in backing similar chaos here.

Both sides are missing players who were involved in the World Cup, so the game hardly holds too much importance. Expect that to result in a carefree encounter.

Correct score: 2-2 or 3-3

Bayern’s first match in this competition has ended as a draw in each of the last two summers.

Given PSG drew their first match of last summer’s edition before going on to lose games 3-2 and 4-2, backing a high-scoring draw is your best bet.

PSG to win on penalties

The Bundesliga champions have lost on penalties twice in this competition, including after that 3-3 draw with Milan.

By contrast, PSG won their only Champions Cup shoot-out against Roma last summer.

Back the Germans to lose on penalties just when it doesn’t matter.
