There’s not much to choose from in the fixture list this week so instead of a five-fold, we’re bringing you a midweek treble.

Port Vale to beat Coventry –

We’re starting at the bottom of League One, where Port Vale will lift themselves out of the relegation zone with a win.

And, given Coventry’s form, that looks nailed-on.

The rock-bottom Sky Blues have won just one league game in 22, picking up just seven points in that period.

They have also failed to score in four and have the division’s worst home record.

Considering Port Vale’s recent mini-revival that has seen them win two out of three, Coventry look doomed to a midweek defeat that would put them within one game of confirming their inevitable relegation to League Two.

Accrington to beat Morecambe –

Next up, Accrington are excellent value to extend Morecambe’s miserable run.

The Shrimpers’ season now looks dead following a run of four defeats on the spin that has extinguished any hope of a late play-off push.

Accrington are also lodged in mid-table, but for a different reason.

John Coleman’s side have lifted themselves away from trouble after going eight unbeaten.

Given that Morecambe’s home record is the third-worst in League Two, it is difficult to see anything other than an away win here.

Luton to beat Newport –

Bringing us home we’ve got an easy pick.

Yes, Newport have won two out of three to lift themselves off the foot of League Two, but don’t be put off.

Both of those wins have been on the road and against struggling sides.

At Rodney Parade, however, County have been abysmal – winning just two games all season.

Luton, meanwhile, have not lost in six away from home and, having conceded just 12 away goals all season, have the division’s best travelling defence.

Against the second-lowest scorers in the league, the Hatters should notch a routine victory here.
