Derby to beat Huddersfield

Derby lost 3-2 at Bristol City on Wednesday evening, but that was only their second defeat in 12 matches in all competitions.

The Rams had won seven of their previous 10, including five straight victories at Pride Park.

Fifth-bottom Huddersfield lost 3-0 at home to Cardiff in midweek, which was their fifth defeat in eight matches.

Fulham to beat Barnsley

Barnsley sank to the bottom of the Championship in midweek after they lost 1-0 at home to Birmingham.

Gerhard Struber’s side have lost five and drawn one of their last six games, while they have taken six points from 15 away games this season – the equal-fewest in the division.

Third-placed Fulham have won five home games on the spin in the league and only dropped three points in their last eight.

Portsmouth to beat Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury lost 2-0 at home to Accrington on Tuesday night, extending their winless run to nine league games.

That sequence constitutes their worst run of results in over three years, while they are also third-bottom of the form table.

Portsmouth were beaten 1-0 by a late goal away to in-form Coventry in midweek but had won nine straight games in all competitions prior to that.

Coventry to beat Southend

Coventry are unbeaten in their last 13 matches in all competitions and climbed to within one point of second place following their 1-0 victory over Portsmouth on Tuesday.

That was the Sky Blues’ third straight win in the league and seventh in their last nine.

Second-bottom Southend were thumped 4-0 by Peterborough in midweek, meaning they have won only two of their last 18 league games.

Salford to beat Stevenage

Stevenage are seven points adrift at the bottom of League Two following a run of five straight defeats.

Graham Westley’s side are currently on a 10-match winless run in all competitions at home and have only scored one goal in their last six.

Salford have won three of their last five away games and should boost their slim chance of a play-off spot with three points.
