Leeds to beat Hull

Hull scored a late penalty to rescue a point at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday, but have still won just two of their 12 matches in all competitions this season – against struggling Rotherham and Ipswich.

The Tigers have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions and, with a defence that has kept just one clean sheet this season, it is hard to have any faith in them on Tuesday.

Leeds have had 147 shots in the league so far this season – four more than any other side – and are likely to see more of the ball again on Tuesday, so chances will surely present themselves.

Middlesbrough to beat Ipswich

Ipswich are still searching for their first win of the season after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw with Birmingham over the weekend.

The Tractor Boys are third-bottom in the Championship and will be without on-loan defender Matthew Pennington, who was sent off at St Andrews.

Third-placed Middlesbrough have lost just one of their 10 league games this season and, at this side of evens, I fancy them against an ineffectual Ipswich.

Barnsley to beat Plymouth

Barnsley have won four and lost just one of their last seven matches in all competitions following their 3-1 comeback victory at Fleetwood last Saturday.

The Tykes are the standout team in League One based on xG, indicating that they are dominating their matches from start to finish.

Plymouth are the worst team in the league based on xG and are without a win after 10 games, stuck on just three points.

Portsmouth to beat Coventry

Portsmouth preserved their unbeaten start to the league season with a 3-1 win away to Rochdale on Saturday.

Kenny Jackett’s side have won seven of their opening 10 matches, and are currently top of League One.

Coventry came from behind to earn a decent point at home to Sunderland at the weekend, but have won just two of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Carlisle to beat Grimsby

Grimsby lost their sixth straight league game on Saturday, going down 2-1 at home to fellow strugglers Morecambe.

The Mariners have lost five of those matches to nil, twice failing to have a shot on target, and are showing why the shot data rates them as one of the worst sides in League Two.

Carlisle lost 1-0 to promotion-chasers Stevenage in their last match, but have won five of their last eight league games, so should make amends on Tuesday.
