Aston Villa to beat Wigan –

Aston Villa put in a solid performance to beat Hull 3-1 at the KCOM Stadium in their opening match.

Back at Villa Park, where they posted the third-best home record in the Championship last season, they should make it two victories from two.

Wigan did manage to beat a poor Sheffield Wednesday side 3-2 last weekend, but their squad still lacks quality after an underwhelming summer.

Middlesbrough to beat Birmingham –

Middlesbrough’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield United, provided a glimpse as to they are why they are fancied for promotion.

Tony Pulis’ side have now won eight of their last nine matches at the Riverside, and should take advantage of their visitors’ recent troubles.

Birmingham have spent much of the off-season under a transfer embargo, and drew 2-2 in their opener against Norwich having twice led.

Doncaster to beat Wycombe –

Doncaster impressed last weekend when winning 3-2 away to a well-fancied Southend side.

And the hosts represent great value to extend their 100 perfect start against newly-promoted Wycombe.

The Chairboys were only able to name five substitutes in their 0-0 draw against Blackpool, and will be without the suspended Michael Harriman after his opening-day red card.

Lincoln to beat Swindon –

Swindon needed two stoppage-time penalties to beat Macclesfield in their season opener.

Lincoln, meanwhile, got their campaign off to a fine start with a 1-0 victory away to recently-relegated Northampton.

Given that they lost just three matches in 23 at Sincil Bank last season, they look good for another win back at home.

Mansfield to beat Yeovil –

Yeovil’s 1-0 defeat at Bury on the opening weekend extended their winless run to nine league matches.

Darren Way’s side have earned just three points in that sequence, while they also had two players sent off at Gigg Lane.

Mansfield opened with a 3-0 win at home to Newport last weekend and should breeze past the Glovers on Saturday.
